CODPIECE BELT

4 - Armour Belt & Codpiece (£0 & paint)

Made from plastic milk bottle opened out, riveted to a length of dampcourse (flexible plastic strip). This was painted green and attached to a canvas belt. The canvas belt had a very simple clasp and was a lot easier than making my own buckle for the belt. I used Velcro to fix the other end of the codpiece over the clasp onto the other end of the belt; hiding the bright red fabric

The milk bottle was surprisingly good as a codpiece, but would have offered very little protection in case of a Rebel attack.

It took me ages to figure out how to make my own codpiece. The milk bottle worked fine, but i wasnt sure about the "1 pint" and "2 pint" embossed markers, considering where I'd be wearing it on my body.

This piece of the costume looked pretty good, but made it impossible to sit down. The plastic dampcourse would have torn where it was riveted to the milk bottle, and movement would have caused all the paint to flake off.

I might be remaking this part, using green fabric as the belt and a cricket box as the codpiece. I'm not sure how it will work yet.
