GIRTH BELT

5 - Girth Belt & Pouches (£7)

This was made from a crimson belt I already had and 2 small sandy-coloured satchels bought from a market (£3.50 each). The satchels were roughened up with sandpaper to give them a well-used look. I attached a clip to the belt to hang the gun from (but I think using the rifle strap looked better - see Gun section).

Not much to say here really, other than the belt should really have been a bit wider.

Update:

I was pretty happy with the red belt and pouches, but as I said, the belt was a little narrow.

One day I was visiting my parents, and my dad was throwing out an old guitar strap. It was wider than the belt I had and it was a brown/red colour. Perfect for an improved Girth belt.

I threaded the pouches onto it, and used safety pins to secure them to the strap. This prevented them from sliding along the belt, as that had happened a few times.

It didnt have a buckle, just a clip for adjusting length. This meant that I had to use a safety pin the secure it in place once I had threaded the end through the clip.
